Rated 5 out of 5 by from No leaks! These storage bags are really good quality. They’re easy to store because they do stand on their own

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I love love these bags. They have muitipl uses what I mean by this is I had some left over, I make smoothies and freeze them (these are for breakfast on the go) I can whip up 3 to 4 weeks of smoothies place in these bags and freeze. What else I love about these bags is if its under 5 oz they freeze super flat qnd make placing them in ziplock gallon bags a breeze. I can also wash out and reuse since I DO NOT use them for breast milk. I am also saving money. These can also be used with my Kiinde Breast milk storage container. I would recommend these over Lansinoh storage bags. These bags are second favorite to the Kiinde pouches. I use these to freeze and use my Kiinde pouches to storge in the fridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hold up well even after freezing and thawing With other brands, I had trouble with them leaking when I was thawing them to use. I am happy to report I've had 0 leaks after using them the last few months!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time mum I found this product to be much better than others on the market. I don’t use a Medela pump so I really appreciated the new bags without the holes for the attachments and also the new size. I’ve tried other brands and found medela bags to be much stronger and easy to store. I’ve had one leak in 6 months but will admit I was being a bit impatient while defrosting the milk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best storage bag. I purchased the Medela bags because my pump is the same brand, and I think they're really great. I'm glad they are so sturdy and I got free shipping, which is very helpful as my budget is tighter than ever with a new baby. :)

I pumped 1 oz into a medela bottle and transferred it to a medela bag to freeze. After I made the transfer the medela bag reads 3 oz. Why? So confused.

Asked by: Liz32
It seems that the bottom of the bag may not have been leveled. Given the flexibility of the product, getting the correct measurement may depend on the position of the bag. It can sometimes be helpful to hold the bag by the sides (closer to the bottom) and push the sides in a bit toward the center. Once you've pushed them in toward the center, release and this should provide accurate readings since the bottom should now be more leveled. Once I open and use a portion of a refrigerated Medela bag of milk, can I save the remainder to be used at another time?

Asked by: Caitlin2019
That's a great question! There are a few other factors that can go into determining whether that would be okay. You should be able to find more information in our "Collection & Storage-English" document. That can be found here: http://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/Search/Index/breastmilk%20storage/1/pdfs. I poured 4.5 ounces of breast milk into the storage bag and it went above the 180ml mark. The directions say not to pour above that line, why is 4.5 oz going above the 6oz line?

Asked by: Liaa
Hi Liaa--- As long as the contents within the bag don't exceed 6 ounces, you shouldn't experience any issues. We don't recommend pouring more than 6 ounces, since the breast milk can expand and could cause issues when frozen. Our bags are intended to properly hold 6 ounces of breast milk. It sounds like you may need to ensure that the bottom of the bag is flat in order for the 4.5 ounces of breast milk to read as such when in the bag. It can sometimes be helpful to hold the bag by the sides (closer to the bottom) and push the sides in a bit toward the center. Once you've pushed them in toward the center, release and this should provide accurate readings since the bottom should now be more leveled.

I’m having pump and save storage bags which was bought four years back but it is in a good condition, can I use that now?

Asked by: Mom to be
Our Pump & Save Bags do not have an expiration date. We only use the safest food grade plastics for all parts that touch breast milk. All parts that touch breast milk are made without BPA, BPS, DEHP, PVC, and Phthalates. It would ultimately be up to you and your comfort level with their current condition. I have a deep freezer that is set to -20*F. Can these bags be stored in a freezer at that temperature?

Asked by: Carol
Hi Carol--- Our breast milk storage bags have not been tested for freezing to that temperature level. Freezing at that temperature may cause the breast milk storage bags to become brittle. It is recommended that the breast milk not be stored for more than 6 months and that the breast milk only be thawed by placing the sealed breast milk storage bag in a bowl of warm water for 20 minutes to bring it to body temperature.

Hello.  What are all the types of plastic in the milk storage bags? And where are the bags manufactured?

Asked by: Jb-medala
Like the Pump & Save Bags, our new Breast Milk Storage Bags are made of an outer layer of PET and an inner layer of LDPE film, fused together with Polyurethane to help protect your milk. These new breast milk storage bags are produced in China. If you have any further questions, please consider chatting with us on our website. We're here to help!

If I do not fill the bag completely in one pumping, can I add more milk to the same bag when I pump again later that same day? Thank you!

Asked by: KJS87
You'll want to avoid adding freshly pumped milk to already cooled milk. You can add small amounts of cooled breast milk to the same refrigerated container throughout the day.
