Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pump, light and portable I bought this pump 3 years ago and used this with my first born. The portability of this pump is great, especially because it is small. I took this with me on many camping trips and on long (up to 3 week long) road trips. I've also been able to sling the pump on my shoulder and was able to do things around the house while pumping (a time saver!). This pump was used a LOT and by the time I stopped breastfeeding, I had enough milk leftover to donate to a local milk bank. I'm about to have my second baby and i'm looking forward to using it again. The only thing I don't like about this product is the breast shields - like ALL brands of pumps, the shields are large and bulky. When left fastened to a bottle they are top heavy and I've accidentally knocked over bottles of milk actually cried about it. Maybe the development team at Medela can develop smaller shields that can ideally be worn discretely under a shirt? And put a one way valve on them so if they tip while fastened to a bottle they don't spill? The membranes aren't strong enough to act as a one-way. I tried making my own shields and failed but think it can be done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent option for on the go! I bought this for a trip knowing I’d have limited access to an outlet and needed something small for easy storing. I was beyond impressed at its efficiency despite being able to pump only one side at a time. Highly recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pump This pump is better than the one I ordered from my insurance company. I should have ordered the double pump from you all. Ever since I started using this product I've gotten more milk. It so portable and easy to use even in the car!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Medela swing maxi Product is ok, but it would be great to have xs (17 mm) breast shields available ( now the smallest is 21 mm and it is not a perfect fit for moms with extra small nipples ( about 10 mm befor pumping)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I was hoping for I bought the medela swing single breast pump, because it was the only one all the nearby pharmacies carry. I wasn’t planning on pumping, but when I gave birth to my late preterm, i had no choice. I used the Symphony in the hospital which cracked my nips and the swing is just as agonizing. It spills milk often (the seal of the suction cap opens while pumping), it takes FOREVER to pump (at least an hour or more) and it’s not confortable (I’ve tried many settings). This pump is best suited for the occasional pumping mom, maybe. I’ve already had a few lumps in my breasts, because it’s not good at emptying my milk. It also cost a good chunk of change, despite having coverage from my insurance (I would have rather invested in something better). I also think the bottles that come with it are cheap and the bottle head gives my baby gas.

We started using this week, but we noticed that the device was without pressure. Then we compare it to a product that a friend of ours has and find that one of the parts that connects the hose to the machine is missing (image). How do we get it?

What happens when the milk starts getting pumped up the hose? as this has been happening the last 3 times I've used it and I have no idea whats wrong. Please advise. Thanks

Asked by: Felicity
Hi Felicity--- We're sorry to hear that! The pump will only push air out rather than suctioning the air in. Typically, when milk backs up into the tubing, it will be due to one or more of the following reasons: • Leaning forward or lying down • Improper Cleaning of Membranes & Valves; replacing the membrane and valve may be helpful. • Damaged Membrane • Heavy Let Down • Overfilling Bottles We recommend following the "Rinse Procedure" found in your instruction manual in order to ensure proper cleaning of the breast pump. If you continue to experience this, please reach out to us directly and provide reference number 245303. Have a great day!
