Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great My 2 month old baby took right to this nipple on the first try after exclusively breastfeeding and went right back without any issues. He is able to pause without chugging and rest and you can see how much is coming out each time he sucks and it seems very reasonable. It is harder to clean in that it has so many parts but they all go in the dishwasher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Allowed breastfeeding to be a success! Things I loved: ~ didn't drown my daughter - she can eat at her pace ~ even though there are 3 parts to the nipple, it's still very easy to take apart and clean ~ due to vacuum pressure being needed, milk does not leak out ~ my daughter switches seamlessly between this bottle and my breast then back again ~ uses the same bottles that Medela pumps use I was worried about trying this bottles at first due to the price being high and seeing reviews about other babies not taking the bottle. I am very happy I tried them. The nipple isn't as hard as some other reviews say, I actually found it to be a lot softer than what I thought after reading reviews. It has a wide opening but it compresses somewhat when your baby latches. Don't let the price scare you away if you are needed a great bottle for using while breastfeeding. If you think about how you don't need to buy any other stage of nipple as your baby grows, it really isn't much more in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bottle! We purchased this bottle so we wouldn't run into feeding confusion when I was having trouble breastfeeding. I was terrified of the baby refusing to nurse off of me once I healed, so I got these. They are a little pricey, and have way more parts then a bottle should, but it eased my mind as a new mother. The baby took to these bottles very well after about three or four feedings. Our son had a small mouth and a shallow latch, so the length of the nipple on this bottle gagged him the first few times, but after that, it was the only thing he would drink from other than Mommy. Just pay attention to how it disassembles so you know how to put it back together once its washed. And be sure to show your partner too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It took a minute for me to remember how to put this together as it has 3 parts to it, but I got it. Easy to clean. We've tried several bottles and nipples, and my son does the best with this one. Milk comes out only when the ba y creates a vacuum with his mouth, so it really does mimic breastfeeding as it takes a few seconds for milk to come out. I would recommend this to parents who are struggling to find the right bottle for their breastfed baby.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good. I think it's a good product but not for a newborn, may be better for a 1-2 month plus infant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good product My baby seems to do a good job sucking on the nipple. It works because he sucks more on my breast now. I just had him back to BFing and he's now 5&1/2 months. He wasn't really interested in being on my breast but I would say that this product helped him want to suck on my breast even more now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good nipple My baby was not taking to typical bottle nipples. When I discovered this nipple from medela I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! It flows at her speed, it doesn't just pour out like other nipples. It's the best nipple I found similar to the breast. My baby took to it right away. At first my baby was only finishing half the bottle but after practice my baby slowly finished the entire bottle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked for our 2 week old We needed a nipple for our medela breast pump bottles. Our baby is breast fed but we had to give her a bottle a few times. She was quick to adapt to this. She finished 2 ounces in less than five minutes. It comes out as hard as the suck but it still felt very fast. She didn't seem to notice or care. We only used it about 3 or 4 times but it worked perfectly for us and we will use it again if we need to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still up in the Air This product was recommended by the lactation consultant. We have tried three feedings now baby is still getting used to something other than the breast. Hoping with increased feeding she will let more easily to this nipple system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for typical baby My baby didn't do well with this. She has tongue/ feeding issues and it came too fast for her. Most of my milk was spilled out the side of her mouth. The nipple seemed to hard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for breastfeeding babies The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it doesn't come with a cap to put over the nipple, so you have to put the bottle cap on and transport the nipple separately if you are going out. Why they don't include a cap that goes over the nipple is beyond me. However, after trying so called "slow flow" Tommee Tippee and Avent bottles with my newborn I love these because they actually make him suck to get the milk out. The other bottles would be pouring into his mouth making him choke and get gassy from getting the milk way too fast. I also love that these fit my medela bottles so now I can just leave the milk I pump in the bottles I use for him.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mehhh The length of the nipple is too long for my baby which caused her to gag. The nipple is on the firm side compared to other brands. She did well with that aspect of it. It was kinda hard for her to get a grip on it because of the shape. She was struggling to stay latched to it, she ended up gulping and swallowing large amounts of air (which made for a rough day and night) I'm going to give it another try considering this was the first and only time she's used it. She has done fine with other brands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not What I Thought They Would Be I was hoping this bottle would mimic breastfeeding more but it doesn't. The baby DOES control the flow with his suction but any amount of suction causes the milk to flow very quickly instead of slowly like from the breast. My baby ends up having to gulp it down & has a hard time trying to catch his breath. I have to watch him very closely to make sure he doesn't choke. I'm hoping, at the price I paid for these, that he gets used to them & they end up working like they're supposed to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't love For some reson my one month old little guy gags when trying to use this nipple on his bottle. The one time he was able to suck on it, it did seem to expel milk more like the breast (or how it seems to while pumping) but he didn't stay on it long due to gagging and gaged every other time I've tried it. The milk comes through it slowly in little 'squirts' so I think it's just the overall shape of the nipple that he doesn't quite get. I wish he did because I think it might help him slow down when bottle feeding as sucking seemed to take a bit more like on the breast and he eats to much to quickly and spits up when using regular bottle nipples. Perhaps we will try again once he is a bit older because I really like the concept it just didn't work for us, yet?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the price Worked well the first few times I used it, then suddenly it started pouring out way too fast and caused my little one to throw up after. Not sure if it’s a flaw in the design or something but for the price, that definitely shouldn’t happen

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flow too fast. Milk comes out fast.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great value, unhappy baby This is a great value seeing that I've seen the nipple alone sell other places for $18. However, my baby hated this nipple! It made him eat much slower but he seemed to be more frustrated than anything. He would get mad, stop eating and start crying while trying to eat, I'm guessing because he was having to work so hard to get milk. I primarily breast feed, and I've been using the medela slow flow nipples but he ate so fast and seemed to take in lots of air so I wanted to try the calma nipple. I can't tell any difference in the amount of air he takes in because he has huge burps just like he did with the other nipples.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it's OK. The nipple is really hard and way too long. My baby doesn't eat like that. Wish i could take it back but i threw the box away. Oh well. He likes avent better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horribly disappointed! Has this for less than a month and have to throw it away. Has a tear in it so my son kept spitting the milk out. Thought this was the greatest thing at first but for the amount I spent on it it should last a lot longer than it did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's a no go My baby would not use this nipple at all! She is breastfed and has an established latch so I thought this nipple would work for her. As it turns out, she got so mad that she refused to eat for a few hours. The next time I tried it, she refused the nipple again and only took in 1 ounce because of being so mad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good Of all vented systems for baby bottles, by far this is the worse one. If you try it for your self you're actually sucking in liquid and some air with it. It's been a few months now and it doesn't work anymore, as in no liquid comes out of it not matter how hard you suck on it. My baby never liked it. For the price this one is horrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breast feeding nipple I like the idea/concept of the nipple but it didn't work out for my baby. He would cry every time I used it on him. The directions said to be patient because it will take a while to get used to but after a week, I gave up and went back to the old medela nipple.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I had high hopes for using these nipples while trying to get my baby used to a bottle. She would take about an ounce and get really frustrated and refuse to take anymore. I think it was too hard for her to get milk out of the nipple.
