Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take the plunge I bought this pump for my first baby. It was recommended by so many people so I finally took the plunge and bought it. I am totally satisfied with this pump! It has levels for suction that are easily adjustable! I had bought a cheaper pump as a spare and it does not even come close to comparison. With this pump I can have a pump session and completely empty in about 10-15 mins compared to 30 mins with the other pump I have. If you are a busy mom this pump is for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I owe most of my positive breastfeeding experience to my pump. I knew I needed a great pump with my second child because I wanted to avoid formula during the first 6 months. I used my pump 3-4 times a day since I was a working mom and we never had to supplement! I’m thankful for my Medela and being able to breastfeed my baby to my goal of 6 months. We surpassed the goal and she is over a year now and starting to wean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Simple to Use! I am currently in the hospital for a c-section for premature labor (baby is doing well btw!) and this is my first baby and this pump was so easy to use! I love it! It helped gently but efficiently make my milk come in and helps me get every last drop! Although this is the hospitals i had already ordered one! Super happy for this coincidence!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I am so happy I was able to get this pump for my second baby. I now have two, one for work and one for home/traveling. The quality is great. They are small and rather portable. The battery pack works great for on the go traveling.

I borrowed the Pump in Style Advanced & have to buy the spare parts.I have 2 questions: 1- can you name the spare parts that should be renewed other than the pump? 2- Will the spare parts of Free Style/Symphony fit this one?

Asked by: Melos
Hi Melos--- Our Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump is considered a single-user product that should not be shared among moms. Medela follows the FDA policy that states that only hospital-grade pumps (such as the Symphony® and Lactina®) could be used by more than one person. The Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump requires different parts than those of the Freestyle and Symphony. If you are in need of a breast pump of your own, we would suggest reaching out to your insurance provider to check if they may be able to cover one under your policy. You can find more information regarding Personal Use Breast Pumps here: http://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/Search/Index?term=personal%20use%20pump&page=1&filter=pdfs Have a great weekend!

Can the lump motor be removed from the bag? In case I want to take it in a smaller one?

Asked by: LecheNovice
Hi LecheNovice--- We don't recommend removing the motor from the bag since it will leave the motor exposed. The motor should remain inside the original tote bag at all times. If you have any questions, please chat with us on our website. We'd be happy to help!

I'm currently pregnant and looking for a breast pump. At my job at the hospital, they have lactation rooms with Medela symphony pumps in them. Will this hook up to those pumps?

Asked by: rose26
The breast shields, connectors, valves, and membranes can all be used with the Symphony. You will need some additional parts such as the Symphony tubing and the Symphony Membranes and Caps. The items can be found below. Tubing: http://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/products/493/tubing-set---42-silicone-for-symphony-lactina-and-pump-in-style-advanced-before-august-2006 Membranes & Caps: http://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/products/147/lactina-to-symphony-conversion-kit If you need additional assistance, please live chat with us on our website. Is there any reason why I cant use the one piece shields for the pump in style advanced instead of the 2 pieces? I am trying to get new pieces since it was last used 6y ago. All the extras are costing me half of what a new pump would cost. :(

Asked by: Indigo
Hi Indigo--- No, there isn't any reason you shouldn't be able to use it with the Pump in Style Advanced. The 1-piece breast shield is compatible with the Pump in Style, Advanced Personal Double Breast Pump, and Symphony. If you have any other questions, please feel free to live chat with us on our website. Have a great day!

Hi. I hear a hissng sound from one one breast/breast pump as I pump (Medala in style). Is this normal/fine? I have checked to make sure everything is secure.

Asked by: KJ Asry
Hi KJ--- It is normal for some air to release from the port plug and port cap that is on the faceplate of the pump. If the air or hissing sound you are hearing is coming from elsewhere, please reach out to us through live chat on our website so that we can help. Have a great day!

I've had my Pump in Style Advanced starter Kit for about 6-7 months now, however, the machine is beginning to cause problems regarding suctioning. It began with the left side, but now both sides are causing the same problem. What should I do?

Asked by: Arias
Hi Arias--- We're sorry to hear that you're having this experience. We recommend checking your parts; more specifically the yellow valves and membranes. You'll want to make sure that the membranes are being removed from the valves for cleaning and that the valves are then being pulled off from the connector so that you can clean inside the valve. If you have extra membranes, we would also suggest changing out to new ones. If this doesn't help, please reach out to us through live chat on our website. We'd be happy to help! Your reference number is 258235.
