What is a Certified Nursing Center?  A Certified Nursing Center is not just about nursing. These stores offer a full product assortment that allow moms a “one stop shop” for all of her breastfeeding, nursing, feeding, and educational needs. Certified Nursing Centers offer a dedicated staff with superior customer service, Certified Product Specialists and Bra Fitters, Breastfeeding Specialist referrals from their store or Breastfeeding Specialists on staff, educational materials and classes, and so much more.

     At Mommy Gear, we strive to be a one-stop shop for all of our customers breastfeeding needs.  Whether a customer visits our store, or shops online we want them to have the highest quality products that will help ensure their breastfeeding success.
     We have chosen Medela Inc. as our breast pump line since the very beginning.  We always strive to represent the Medela brand in the best way possible.  The partnership opportunities that Medela offers have significantly helped us to grow our business over the years.  Mommy Gear has participated in 2 recent Medela pilot programs—the Freestyle™ Breast Pump Survey and currently the Pump Exchange Pilot.  We are happy to be a part of new programs and enjoy the feedback that occurs during the pilots.
     Being chosen as a Medela Certified Nursing Center would be a true honor for us.  We want to be Medela’s premier location in our region.  The elevated visibility of becoming a Medela Certified Nursing Center, the enhanced staff training, and the co-op advertising opportunities would help us grow Mommy Gear to the next level.
     We appreciate the high product quality that Medela provides and we offer our customers the full range of Medela pumps, spare parts, intimate apparel, and support products.  We distribute the educational materials provided by Medela throughout our contacts in the medical community.  We are fortunate to have excellent partnerships at our local hospitals and doctors’ offices that frequently refer their patients to Mommy Gear for their breastfeeding needs.
     Mommy Gear has looked for ways to support the breastfeeding mothers in our community.  We have recently begun hosting a newly-formed La Leche League group on the first Monday of each month.  This La Leche League group is the only group for a 30 mile radius and has drawn mothers from 4 different towns.  We are working together to help this group grow into a strong support.
     We are very excited to be working with Debi Perl, the lactation consultant at Somerset Hospital to plan special breastfeeding workshops here at Mommy Gear in early 2009.  We hope to offer birth preparation classes and infant massage classes in the next few months.  This will help us to meet our mission to help each family find their breastfeeding success.
     We are always looking for ways to better serve our customers and encourage breastfeeding.  A designation as a Medela Certified Nursing Center would help us accomplish both goals, while representing the excellence of the Medela brand.
