Re: Comfort Bras HELP

I bought 2 bra's, and both had things I didn't like about them.... Then I bought this one: xxxxxxx and it's GREAT. It's expensive, but it's very comfortable, and supportive, and I wear it 24/7. When I'm not wearing this bra, I wear Express tank-tops with the built in bra... those really help me too. As for the sizing, I think usually I go ...

Re: CRACKED NIPPLES

oh, I'm so sorry! Ouch... I had a few cracked nipples in the beginning.... Personally I wouldn't try the nipple shield because I was afraid that my little one would get used to the strange feeling and then stop feeding on my breasts. Your own milk is the BEST for healing them. Keep feeding (yes, I know it still hurts! :( - but it's important) ...

Re: adding more milk

I don't know if you ''can'' but I don't think you ''should'', and I don't think it's recommended. Each day your milk will taste different - due to the different things you eat yourself. So it's not recommended that you mix milk that is not within 24 hours of eachother because it might taste odd to your little one, and they may not eat it. ...

Re: Pregnant but i want help getting prepared in how to breastfeed.

When the baby is born, the nurse will most likely encourage you to breastfeed immediately! Talk about crash-course! ;) But apparently there is not much milk production right away. Your milk will come in fully over the next week (two days, in my case). You will NEVER need formula (unless you are a rare case). The baby does not need a lot of milk ...

Re: How long should Freestyle shields last?

Yeah, to be honest, I don't know how long they're supposed to last, but mine do get warped/misshapened after about 1-2 months of regular use. Now after 3 months of regular use, the small membrane is also getting too loose, so I will probably have to replace that and see if the suction is better.

Re: Frozen milk Leak...help!

haha... that happened to me too! I just put the whole thing in a bigger back and ran it under hot/warm water. The milk was fine - just messy! And the Medela caps (that were misshapen from the bursting milk) went back to their original shape after being thawed out. :)

Re: How do I continue to breastfeed after I go back to work?

Just try to pump as often as you can - and ideally at the normal feeding times for your child. If you breastfeed exclusively on the weekends and evenings when you're with your child, your supply should keep flowing. I actually look forward to pumping at work, because I have a small break where I listen to my ipod and pump. It's kind of ...

Re: Planning to pump

I just commented on a similar post - but what I did before I went back to work was to pump a couple hours after I put my son to bed for the night. Or if I happened to get up in the night (to pee, or sleeplessness) I would pump a bottle or two out. Also, if I fed him, and he was finished, about an 30minutes to 1 hour later I would pump the ...

Re: How to pump and still have enough milk for regular feedings

I had a similar situation when I just started feeding. What I ended up doing was to pump a couple hours after I put my boy down to sleep for the night. Or if my breasts were especially full in-between feedings, I would pump a little out from each side (trying to be sure there was enough for him to feed at the next interval). There was one or ...
