There are lactation consultants that will come to your home, depending on where you are located. Also, you might be able to make a phone appointment with them, and they can walk you through the process.

Contact Medela immediately-since you bought your pump new, it should have a full warranty which should include getting you the right battery pack.

There are health risks with using a used Pump In Style and it is not recommended by either Medela or the FDA. In addition to possible health risks, there would be no warranty on the pump. The worst is when a mom spends money on a used pump, then it doesn't work properly so she has to turn around and buy another one!

The largest nipple shield made, either contact or regular, is a 24mm. Often moms use a different size nipple shield than breast shield, as they are for different purposes.
|
It is not abnormal for your nipples to swell when pumping. Sounds like you actually need to try larger shields to relieve the discomfort.

You might want to check with a local authorized dealer to see if they will check your pump. At Bosom Buddies in Denver, we will check your Medela pump (including the Freestyle) to see if it is working within the range it should. If nothing else, this can give you some piece of mind.

This was a Limited Edition product, 2007 I believe. It is a personal use pump, so there are health risks with sharing. There are no new ones available, and my guess would be Medela would not honor the warranty since it has not been available for over a year.

Moisture in the tubing is normal, so do not necessarily worry about that. Be sure the white membranes are facing you while you are pumping and see if that helps.
