Just do what is right for you. Some people will say oh just give up and go to formula. I heard this so many times when I got mastitis in both breasts. Then others make you feel guilty about not breastfeeding long enough or resorting to pumping. It's just like when your pregnant people always comment on how your too big or too small. Just do ...

I pumped around 8:00am, 12:00am, 4:00pm, and 8:00pm. When I went to 3 times a day, each day I made less and less milk. I finally stopped because i was making so little it wasn't worth it. Good Luck!

I initially pumped every 4 hours and would pump in the middle of the night also. I did this for the 1st 2 months. My nipples started getting sore from so much pumping and I developed Mastitis because I was trying to empty them. Don't make this mistake. Everyone told me ''make sure you empty the breast''. I had the same thing happen. My breast shield was the wrong size. I called Medela and they helped me figure out what size I needed. They also sent it to me since that size was hard to find.

I had the same problem. I am only pumping, so I pump a lot each day. I started to get the crack around my nipple also. I know this is silly, but I actually thought ''ok if I continue to pump for several more months could my nipple come off''. Turns out, my breast shield didn't fit properly. I called Medela and they helped me decide on the right ...

They were very nice and helped me find the right one to fit. I needed a smaller one and now I am pumping twice as fast without the discomfort. My nipples have also healed (YAY!!!!!), so the ...

I am pumping exclusively now because my daughter also chomps down on my nipples. Even with help from the lactation consultant she continues to give me compression sores and it just hurts too bad to nurse her while they heal. When I started I was only making 1 oz. on each side pumping every 2 hours. Now that my supply is up, I am pumping about ...
