Re: Quick Clean bags in PUBLIC microwave

The steam bag is clean & by the time the microwave is done, it & the parts inside are clean. This is not unclean for further use. It IS, however, extremely rude & inconsiderate on the part of the pumping mother. This issue needs to be brought to her attention so that she will remain with her pump parts until the microwave finishes & then she needs ...

Re: Sick of milk pumping into the tube....

Just to be clear, not that I don't rust what you said in response to my reply, but I wanted to make sure... Do you separate the white membrane from the yellow part when you are cleaning your pump parts. I never doubted that you clean the pump, but I have read others' replies that they didn't realize the membrane can, & actually shouls, be ...

Re: Need help w/ Pump In Style

When I use my car adapter, my PIS works at a faster rate of pumping (without changing the pump's settings).

Re: Left-over pumped milk - Can I use for later?

I work with level 2 babies in the hospital, so I know the official rules we give to the moms. On the other hand... I've also heard that mother's milk has antibacterial properties to it, which is why the LC's say to rub in the drops of milk still on the nipple after expressing. The study mentioned aboce falls in line with my last statement. I've ...

Re: Medela storage bottles - microwave safe?

I've been using the steam bags nearly exclusively for several months & have not noticed any negative side effects. You should be ok.

Re: How often does tubing need cleaned?

Mshelley1, you are welcome! I've only noticed the condensation when I use the Symphony at work, but not really when I use my 8 year old PIS. My parts can all be BONE DRY & I get condensation in the FIRST session on my first day back at work for the week (I work 3, 12-hour shifts).

Re: Problem with sterilizing parts prior to first use

For sterilization, I am a HUGE fan of the microwave steam bags (or the dishwasher on the super cleaning setting). As for parts, you can find parts at either Target or Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot.

Re: White/Cloudy Build Up in Personal Fit Connectors

It should just be water minerals accumulating. My pump parts aren't as clear & shiney as they once were (they're on their 2nd child), but are clean & very functional.

Re: breastpump membranes

Replace the membranes when they are damaged. Clean them the same as you clean the rest of your pumping & bottle feeding supplies, whether it be by microwave, boiling, dishwasher, etc.

Re: Fenugreekto increase milk supply

Here's info about 1 of the products that is highly recommended by our LC's at work. I combine this w/ Brewer's Yeast tablets.   Here's the ingredient list for the product I mentioned before I copied & pasted this from one of my other posts in the Medela Discussion Board. Here it is: ...
