Rated 4 out of 5 by from Battery works great, price not great Battery started working after just a few hours of charging. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and use it 6-7 times a day, it is still running strong. After reading other reviews I was nervous it wouldn’t work, but that wasn’t the case for us. I gave it 4 stars because of the price. They are making a fortune off of mothers just trying to feed their babies....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked for me I charged the battery the full 24 hours as required and it worked fine. Was worried bc so many people said it didn’t work and were out $80. Wonder if they just put it in without charging it. Instructions SHOULD be added to the package when it’s sent to customers though...just like with any product. Medela should refund money back to people if the batteries don’t work I feel like.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Before buying call Medela My advice is to make sure you talk to someone from medela before buying this if your freestyle won’t hold a charge. A lot of times the problem is with the pump itself and a new battery won’t fix it. Which was my case and now I’m out $80 that they won’t refund :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Freestyle Unit Still Only Works Plugged In My wife called Medela Customer Support because her Freestyle unit would not hold a charge and she had to use it plugged into the wall. She was told that she needed to order a new battery which is what we did. The new battery arrived with no directions but after doing some research, I understood that the bettery needed 24 hours of continuous charge prior to use. So after the full 24 hours of continuous charge, my wife turned on the pump on and nothing happened, unit would not turn on. She plugged the power cord back into the unit and was able to use the pump again. I was hesitant to purchase the new battery based on other reviews but did it anyway. I'm hoping that I can find a solution to this problem...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rechargeable Battery has Short Lifespan I was using the pump and all of a sudden the numbers on the screen started going in and out and the pump stopped working.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rechargeable battery does not work! I want a replacement rechargeable battery for my Medela freestyle, against my better judgment, after reading multiple bad reviews about the battery. The new one does not hold a charge, Even after being on the charger for over 24 hours straight multiple times. It works for about 20 seconds and then shuts off if not connected to the wall plug. Very disappointed, as I loved this pump and the cordless feature for my first child.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unable to use I bought this to replace my current battery as my unit flashed "battery" and then would no longer work. Unfortunately the unit does the same thing even with the new battery. Now I am out the $80 as I cannot return the unused battery.

How do you charge this battery? Just plug it in?

Asked by: LIsaB5
You'll just need to insert it into the Freestyle Breast Pump and then plug the breast pump into the outlet using the Freestyle Power Adapter. You'll need to allow the battery to charge for a full 24 hours prior to the first use. If you need any help, please consider live chatting with us on our website. We're happy to help!

Hi, my Medela electric pump baterry is not working...I charged it all night and the battery has only one line of charge....does the battery have a expiration?? the one that you sell fits the free style double electric pump?

Asked by: Maru
Once I put in the new battery, I too thought it wasn’t working. Let it charge for at least 24 hours without unplugging it.

Hello, I bought medela and used it for my daughter 3 years ago for only 5 months and it worked fine. We have got a new baby 3 weeks ago. So, we tried to use the same medela that we stored. Initially, it worked perfectly for only 5 minutes. Then stopped.

Asked by: Islam toor
I would call Medela customer service. I had a similar thing happen and they were great about working with me. I don’t know how long pumps are supposed to last but it’s possible they would just replace it for you.

The reviews for this battery are not very good. I pulled out my Freestyle, which I love, and the battery will not charge. I do not want to be out $80 if the replacement battery does not work. What is protocol if this happens?

Asked by: B&BM
We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. If this is the first time using the breast pump after a long period of storage or after having removed the battery, you'll want to ensure that you are charging it for a full 24 hours uninterrupted. This will be the same process you followed when you first received the breast pump and did the initial charge. If you continue to experience a charging issue, please reach out to our team via chat on our website. Your reference number is 215607. Have a great day!

Hi there. I wish to fly domestically with my Freestyle, could you please provide the specs for the lithium content of the battery?

Asked by: Becky
I recently flew domestically in the United States and had no issues with carrying my pump with the lithium battery in my carryon. Can give you specs, just my experience.

Why is this product not offered on the Canadian site? I need a battery as mine will no longer hold a charge but I can’t buy this unless I live in the US? How can us Canadians get batteries for our pumps?

Asked by: Liz.
Hi Liz.--- We would recommend reaching out to Medela Canada to discuss this further. Each country may offer different options based on their own business decisions for that location. We are happy to help troubleshoot with you, but we would be unable to send replacements outside of the U.S. Please consider reaching out to us via chat on our website!
