Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement tubing I bought this tubing to replace my original tubing which had gotten milk in it. Since I pump everyday exclusively, it was hard to clean the tubing and have it dry prior to needing it again, so I bought another set of tubing to have on hand and use when one set needs cleaning.

I have been using my pump for only 2 months. Water got inside and there’s a spec of black. Possibly mold? How do I take it apart and clean the inside? Want to see if I can remove the black spec before buying new tubes.

Asked by: Brittain
Hi Brittain--- The tubing does not come apart, but it can be washed by running cold clean water through it, then warm soapy water, and cold clean water again. The tubing can then be hung to air dry or dried by connecting it to the pump and allowing the pump to dry for a few minutes. That will help push air through the tubing and dry it out. I washed my tubing with warm soapy water and noticed what looks like foggy water spots left in the tube now that they are dry. Is there a way to get the tubes clear again? Should I boil them?

Asked by: jullou2
No, we do not recommend boiling the tubing. If the tubing was washed using hard water, white spots may be left behind due to the minerals in the water. They are not toxic, but may make your tubing cloudy or spotty. We suggest washing the tubing again, but with drinking quality or bottled water. The tubing should only be washed if dirty or if milk is present. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. We're now available via live chat on our website!

Hi. My Pump in Style Backpack was purchased in 2005. The tubings do not have anything on them. They are just plain tubings with round ends. I would like to purchase new ones for my pump. What kind of tubings now are compatible with my model? Thanks.

Asked by: HEISL
Hi Heisl--- This particular tubing, 101033078, is intended for use with Our Pump in Style Advanced breast pumps manufactured after July 2006. Item 87214 is intended for use with Pump in Style Advanced breast pumps manufactured before August 2006. Models before August 2006 will have two holes in the faceplate of the pump that the tubing goes into. Models after July 2006 will have two tubing port posts that the tubing goes over. We hope that helps! Please feel free to live chat with us on our website if you need additional assistance. Have a great day!

When the new tubes are received, can they be used straight out of the package or do they need to be cleaned first?

Asked by: Robin
Hi Robin--- There is no need to wash the tubing prior to the first use or after each use. You can use them directly out of the package. The tubing should only be washed when milk is present or if they become dirty. Please feel free to chat with our team on our website if you have any further questions. Have a great day!

My tubing has 2 dark spots on the inside but it does not look like mold...more like a burn. I washed them but it didn't come out. Would you recommend they be replaced for my new baby? I have no clue what could have caused the discoloring. Its 3 years old.

Asked by: Tina13
Yes it’s probably mold. Water can get stuck inside sometimes. It’s best to just replace the tubing and try to dry them out before reusing them for the next pumping session.
