I am a physician and am under a lot of pressure during pump times and I get to it late and worry I worked I wouldn't have enough time after going back to work... But the Sonata has been a God send with baby #2. Pump times are cut down by 8-10 min from my In Style that always worked well with baby #1 as it was. Suction is significantly better, parts are easier to clean, lighter weight and easy to pack up, etc. This was a splurge for me from my HSA, but would do it again in a heart beat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the pump .... sell the tubing separately! Someone posted a year ago to sell the parts separately but, the only option still .... is to buy this expensive kit. Every time I need to replace the tubing, I have to spend $50 on parts I don’t need. I love the pump, but this price just to get the tubing is rediculous especially after spending all of this money on the pump. Sell the tubing separately.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from SELL THE TUBING SEPERATELY I only bought this set because my original tubing was 6 months old. I looked all over for the internet for just the tubing but Medela refuses to just sell it by itself, despite multiple complaints by pumping mothers. I ended up paying for this whole set, even though I just needed the tubing. I can't even use the flanges because they aren't my size. The mini carrying bag is nice, and the extras they included in the set is nice too, I guess it was a good time to replace everything. I love my Medela Sonata, but it was not covered by my insurance and the tubing being so expensive to replace was really a turn off and not practical. Also customers should be able to pick their own flange size in this set since we are paying for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the Kit, But... I’ve gotten the double pumping kit because I needed lots of extra parts while working 4-5 shifts in a row with no time for clean-up. Yesterday while I simultaneously charted on my patients and pumped (since there’s no time for this to be done otherwise) I realized the end of my tubing was wearing down. And then I realized you can’t just buy sonata tubing separately?! I don’t need any more parts, just the tubing!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was hesitant to purchase the Medela Sonata and thought I did my research on this. I’m so disappointed at how the only way to buy the tubing is to purchase this kit! Come on!! I don’t need half the items in the kit yet I’m forced to purchase it if I need spare tubing. I find this ridiculous and even more so since this pump was not cheap!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for exclusive pumpers My sonata stopped holding a charge after 5 months and I am on my 3rd set up tubing. My tubing has been carefully handled and stays out of reach of children. Each time I had a different issue with tubing - splitting in tubing and second time the connector splitting in half. I hate purchasing a $60 kit for the one remaining month in my pumping journey when all I need is $8 tubing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unnecessary Add-Ons My baby is 9 months old, and I am an exclusive breast-pumper. The tubing gets tugged and bent as I take the pump to and from work. Through normal wear-and-tear, children pulling at it, and cats chewing on it, I am now on my third tube. It is frustrating that Medela doesn't sell the tubing separately. I don't need the other spare parts, and I cannot use the breast shields that comes in the package because they are too small for me. Medela, please sell the tubing separately!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tubing design and replacement My tubing started to rip after several months of use because of the design of how the tube connects to the pump. I've been taping it ever since, but after replacing tape every week, I went to find a replacement tube, only to discover that you have to buy the whole kit. Tubing should be sold individually, since many people don't need any of the other accessories included.

What if the tubing on my Sonata becomes bent or tears? How do I replace it?

If that happens and is a warranty-related issue, we would recommend reaching out to our team via chat on our website. We're available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, and Saturdays until 12pm CST! If this occurs due to a non-warranty issue, then you would want to replace it by purchasing the Sonata Double Pumping Kit, which includes the tubing.
