Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the portability This has been a great pump for me as I travel quite a bit. I have had to use it on airplanes, in airports, hotels, and multiple offices and it has been durable for the most part. I had an issue with the plastic part that connects the back cap to the main housing and customer service was extremely helpful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timely Arrival, Quality Parts!! Bought parts for a new (to me) Freestyle pump. SO GLAD I DID!! Pump lets me move around freely, instead of being locked down next to an electrical outlet!! Parts were excellent quality, and arrived in a very time manner!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed It is just plain useful to have a second set. It means that I didn't have to wash and sterilize the parts in the middle of the night in order to be able to use them again first thing in the morning. I definitely recommend having a spare set on hand!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Portable but inconsistent I have been overall happy with the freestyle but also have had issues with consistency with suction. Have purchased multiple sets of spare parts over the 6 months I've been pumping at work/evening (3-4 times daily). As others have said, seem to have difficulty maintaining suction, only once have I seen an actual crack/defect. But after a few weeks of use pump parts just don't work as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love it when the parts work properly... This pump was gifted to me with an extra set of pump parts and in the beginning I loved it and recommended it often. I'm a first time mama and I power pump exclusively (20m on/ 10 off/ 10 on/ 10 off/ 10 on) 3 times per day. After a couple weeks... it drove me nuts because the parts don't always work properly. There are times when I will hear air whistling on one side, or feel less suction, or I will see the yellow membrane over- flexing on one side and I know something is off. It was starting to affect my milk supply so I purchased a new set of spare parts to cut down on dish washing (because of how often I pump) and to see if that made a difference, but it actually made more parts that have to go through trouble shooting which adds time to what should be a quick and easy set up to pump. I've held the parts together by hand during sessions and I've swapped parts back and forth during a session to get the proper suction back. After lots of trial and error, I've found that the issue is the clear backing pieces are not secure enough to retain suction. I own 3 sets of parts and only 1 set works. I'm going back to work soon and I would be toast if my last set goes out. Plus I'd be upset if I purchased another set and it was also faulty. Medela is known for quality and at the price, the expectation is high. I don't look forward to buying a new pump, but if I keep needing 1 part of the accessory kit to keep the pump working, I will have spent the cost of a new pump soon. When it does work properly, I'm able to be mobile and get alot done. But when it doesn't work... it makes for a stressful experience. For convenience, it would be recommended with a huge disclaimer about parts inconsistency and future cost of replacing parts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love how it's portable but... I am having issues with keeping suction and constantly having to purchase spare parts to keep up my suction. Becoming disappointed with the pump

Hi, is it possible for Medela to test uv sterilizing method since alot if its users gave a uv steeilizing machine?

Asked by: Yen7
Hi Yen7--- At this moment, we only recommend sanitizing the parts by using the Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags or by boiling the parts. We have forwarded your feedback to the appropriate team so that they may take this into consideration. Have a great day!

I’ve had my medela freestyle since Feb, it seems like it’s loosing suction. Should I be replacing any parts regularly?

Asked by: Cari
Hi Cari--- The parts should only need to be replaced if you notice that the membranes have begun to warp or if you see any physical damage to any of the parts. We typically suggest replacing the Spare Parts first if you are having issues with suction. It is rarely an issue to do with the tubing. You do also want to ensure that your breast pump parts are completely dry before each use and that the membrane is laying flat in the connector body. We have documented the issue that you described, but please reach out to us so that we may better assist and also look into your warranty. We're now also available via chat on our website!

Asked by: Michk
Hi Michk--- All of our Medela breast pump parts should only be sanitized by boiling or by using of our Quick Clean Micro-steam Bags. We do not recommend any other methods be used since we have not tested them for that purpose. We hope that information helps. Have a great day!

I bought a Freestyle 4 years ago, now the second baby is coming and I am wondering which parts I have to replace?

Asked by: Marie.K
When I had my second I replaced the breast shield connectors, membranes, and tubes! The spare parts kit and the extra tubing should be all that you need.

I’m using uvsteralizing machine. The membranes are okay to go in? What’s membrane made of? Is it natural rubber?

Asked by: Ededed
We do not recommend that the membranes be placed in the UV Sterilizing Machine since we have not tested them using that method. They have only tested them by boiling and using our Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags. These would be the only two methods of sanitizing that we would recommend. Medela components and products are not manufactured with natural rubber or natural rubber latex. Please feel free to reach out to us, if you have any additional questions. We're now also available to assist you via chat on our website!
