  • Where to find Goat's Rue

    03-23-2008 9:39 PM Reply

I have looked on several sites and have checked local health food stores in Polk County, FL to find this and have not had any luck. Goat's Rue helps with Lactation and can be taken along with Fenugreek. Has anyone else had any luck in finding it? Any help would be great! Thanks, Ashley

    Hi Ashley

I had some trouble finding it too. It is more commonly used for induced lactation, which I guess isn't so common.

I bought some capsules (just goat's rue), the Mother Love brand, through the local breast-feeding centre, I also found them in Whole Foods. Motherlove also sells their stuff online.

Now I've tried it, I'm thinking of buying the powder in bulk and making my own caps, because the pre-mixed caps were quite expensive.

    Hope this helps

    Lara

At   http://www.Motherlove.com you can order online.  But check the where to buy link because you can type in your zip code and it will tell you if anyone close buy carries it.  Helps the local business to give her your business, ordering online is taking away from local people.

I tried the herb fenugreek 650mg 4 to 5 times a day really boosted my milk supply big time, as well as mother's milk tea.  I have bought fenugreek & the tea at vitamin shoppe, & I have also bought the tea at a chain of stores call Vons.  It will take the fenugreek at least 72 hours to kick in, please don't take it if you are currently pregnant.  FYI, it is normal for fenugreek to make you smell like molasses.  It is not that expensive, about $11.00 ish for 100 pills, it is worth a try.
