  • cleaning dried milk out of pump parts

I have the Pump In Style and use it every day.  I try to clean it after I use it at work, but it looks like there is some milk or mildew built up in the part between the bottle and the "cup" that suctions to the breast.  Does anyone know how to get that really clean in there?  I've tried soaking it in hot, soapy water; boiling the parts on the stove, and using the steaming/sterilizing Medela bags- no luck so far.

    Thanks!

Hi, It sound like it is just  the plastic turning cloudy(or whitish) from boiling which is normal.

yes- I was talking about the connector. My only solution so far is using q-tips and toothpicks to stick in there and get some of it out. It doesn't totally work though. I'm still open to suggestions. (Pumping for baby #2 now.)

Try washing the connector part in the sink in soapy water and using a small nipple cleaning brush to effectively clean every surface on the inside of the connector. Gerber makes an excellent nipple brush, the smallest I have found - works great for me!
