I don't know if it's true or not but lot's of my friends told me that with a baby girl mother gains more weight comparing to baby boy....?! honestly i don't know if it's true but you never know.

My body started to shrink a little bit when my baby turned 9-10 months....nature works! But also I have tried to sit on a diet for 2 weeks. That was the hardest time for me....and of course my breast milk was reduced too but at the end I have lost 10-12 lbs. I understood one thing: there's no need to be on some super diet or exercise every day....just eat healthy food that's it....HEALTHY FOOD! That means no fast food...no burgers....no french fries...instead eat homemade soups, fruits, boiled vegies, cheese (not on bread but seperate), whole grains....and lots of water => all these will keep you in good shape and it's a source of nutrition for baby growth and for breatmilk production. I have learned a lesson....and with the next pregnancy I know what to eat.

Of couse when you are expecting its like an excuse to eat whatever you want...that's what i did to myself....but after you have a baby....you start thinking about getting back to your previous shape asap. So, if you eat right way in the beginning it would be easier later on and u'll get rewards !

Good luck with everything! And if you have time later on...let me know how's everything going.

Thank you!!!

Re: Weight issue

Well, I'm with you when I had my daughter i gained 65 pounds. I only lost twenty of it and then gained it back as soon as I started a birth control. Two and a half years later I weigh 194 and thats the heaviest I've ever weighed. I'm now expecting my second child and I want to get back down to 135. It seems almost like a dream I have only gained four pounds so far with this pregnancy but I'm now in the third trimester and that's when you pack on the weight. If you have any luck please pass it on I'm desperate.

Re: Weight issue

Having gestational diabetes, I learned how to control my food. I actually lost weight while pregnant and the day I delivered I was still under my pre-pregnancy weight by 3lbs. I'm now down 20lbs pre-pregnancy. To really help with weight lose, in my opinion, talk to your doctor about the diabetic diet. It controls your carbs and you eat more often. It keeps your sugars up and not giving you lows through out the day that can slow your metabolism.

But, really... the key to my weight loss, was portion control. Once I got my portions down... HOLY CRAP, my weight dropped. Definitely keep exercising and drinks tons of water. That helps flush the weight holding toxins out of your body.

And if you don't want to talk to you doctor about the diet, just good diabetic diets. It should give you the key to how many carbs you should be eating at each meal. Mine was 4 carbs at breakfast, 2 for my mid-morning snack, 4 for lunch, 2 for my afternoon snack, 4 for dinner and 2 for my night snack. I felt like I was eating more when I was eating on that diet.

I'm not diabetic anymore, but I still follow this diet.

Good luck to you!! You can always email me for more info if you would like. yodasmomma@juno.com

Re: Weight issue

43 lbs...wow...that's great. I delivered naturally and after that in about 1-2 months I also lost the water weight but it last only 2-3 weeks or so. And then i started to gain again. I try to exercise at home once in a while (when she is sleeping), i do walk a lot with baby too, and i eat not too much (like a salad for lunch or a soup). But still not loosing ...just keep gaining :(

The food diary is a good idea, I am gonna try to do so too, may be it will help. thank you for sharing with your experience.

Do you have any idea how to loose baby fat? I breastfeed my baby and try to make sure that i eat enough to have a milk in breast. I've heard so many stories that breastfeeding makes you loose weight but somehow it passed me by, i am not loosing....i am GAINING!

Once i tried not to eat and end up with empy breasts....i had to give a formula to baby until i had my milk back.

Please, who looses weight, share with your secret, diet.
