I have a breast pump from 2001 and am currently using it for child number 3.  One of the hose inside the machine got a hole and my husband repaird it.  It works again but I feel it may not be strong enough.  I am only pumping 1- 1.5 oz on each side when I pump even when I am fully engorged.  My son is 4 weeks old.  It also just drips out.  I feel the suction is not tugging on my nipples enough.  I was wondering if this is normal or is it loosing some of its power.

You may want to consider buying new hoses if Medela sells those seperately.  However, I read that if a pump is more than 1 year old, depending on the brand and pump, the motor may start to wear down.  During those first few weeks supply is normally pretty high, although each person is different.  In my personal experience milk was squirting out in the first few weeks.  I also got up to 4 oz on each breast, but I was pumping about 35min 5times per day on a Medela (to start freezing for my return to work.)
