  • Quick Clean Wipes - Proper Use?

    01-25-2008 11:26 AM Reply

I have the Medela Quick Clean Wipes, however I am unsure the best way to use them. Do I pump, rinse with warm water my parts and collection bottles, then swipe them all with the Quick Clean Wipes OR do I pump, swipe the parts with the Quick Clean Wipes and only rinse out the collection bottles with warm water. I don't want my 7 month old to drink cleaning agent with her milk. I have noticed that when I use these wipes, the next pumping session tends to yield greater production. Has anyone else experienced this?

I use the quick clean wipes and use them to clean all the parts and use a bottle brush with a wipe wrapped around it to clean bottles as I do not have access to water when I use the wipes. They seem to work quite well and I have not noticed any film or any changes in production as a result of using them. As long as you let the parts dry before reassembling, I don't see why there would be any cleaning agent left. I have been pumping all 6 months and have not noticed any "residual" in my milk or anything. I then wash with hot soapy water at night and sterilize the parts daily in the steam bag or in boiling water.
