Hello, I am expecting my first baby in a couple of weeks. The only problem is that these pumps are pretty pricey and I was wondering if it's okay to purchase one of these pumps used. I can get one for half off but if it's dangerous it wouldn't be worth it. Please help...

There are health risks with using a used Pump In Style and it is not recommended by either Medela or the FDA. In addition to possible health risks, there would be no warranty on the pump. The worst is when a mom spends money on a used pump, then it doesn't work properly so she has to turn around and buy another one!

With regardds to using a used pump, I have a Medela Pump in Style from my pregnancy five years ago. I boiled and cleaned all the parts. Is it safe to use?

Reusing your old pump is safe. You did thing correctly by resterlizing your own parts. If you notice any loss of suction or poor results using your pump have the suction tested. Check to see if your LC can do this, most can. Good lucj with your new baby.
