January 24, 2008: Medela.com, online home to Medela, world leader in breastpumps, breastfeeding accessories and human lactation research, has launched a fresh look with new and exciting features. The new Web site has more breastfeeding information, better tools and caters to the individual.
The Web site’s improved design is easy to use, with audience-specific navigation for expectant mothers, nursing mothers and professionals. Each section’s content is customized to meet the audience’s specific needs — whether it’s a product selector or benefits of breastfeeding page for expectant moms, or tools for childbirth educators and lactation consultants.
Not only is the content better organized, but Medela.com now boasts some features that will help moms find the products and information they need to breastfeed successfully. The new product selector tool allows moms to compare pumps, listing their characteristics and accessories. The site’s comprehensive search function makes perusing the up-to-date database of breastfeeding tips and solutions a breeze. And the site showcases a new online discussion community, where moms can share personal breastfeeding experiences and advice.
When visiting the new Medela.com for the first time, visitors will see the global landing page with a map of five different regions around the world. They should click on the U.S. icon, and then select the breastfeeding page. Once there, they will have the option to set this as their landing page for future visits to Medela.com.
“Medela knows that moms and professionals are Web-savvy and information hungry but often pressed for time,” said Carolin Archibald, Medela vice president of consumer products. “By emphasizing practical information and an easy-to-use design we’re confident the new Medela.com will satisfy these needs.”
