Medela Named Company of the Year and Recognized with Healthcare Leadership, Best Product and Social Media Awards

McHenry, Ill., Dec. 19, 2013 – Medela is honored to announce it has been recognized by leading health and industry organizations in several different areas, including company of the year in healthcare leadership, best breastpump products and accessories, and best social networking. The honors were bestowed by March of Dimes, American Baby, TheBump.com, and eHealthcare Strategy.

“Medela continues our commitment to provide tools that benefit mothers’ successful breastfeeding,” says Carolin Archibald, president of Medela, Inc. “We continue to focus our efforts to put mom and baby at center of everything we do. This year, we are excited to have expanded our online community of moms and digital communications to support breastfeeding and improve infant health. These efforts are increasingly important as the healthcare landscape is changing rapidly and our mom community deserves the most up-to-date information on breastfeeding and coverage of breastfeeding support under the Affordable Care Act. The ability to access the education and support needed to help moms succeed and babies thrive is critical. It is an honor and our mission to support both.”

Company of the Year
In recognition of Medela’s efforts to support breastfeeding research and women and infant health, the March of Dimes named Medela 2013 Company of the Year and honored Medela with a prestigious Jonas Salk Health Leadership Award. This award is given to maternal and infant health professionals and organizations in five key disciplines: healthcare management, physician, nurse, research and public and community health. Its intent is to recognize organizations that continue the legacy of the March of Dimes mission of improving the health of babies and to celebrate the success of Dr. Jonas M. Salk, who developed the Salk vaccine for polio with March of Dimes funding. Visit the March of Dimes website to read more about the award. http://www.marchofdimes.com/illinois/news_11330.html
