Medela Inc. Names New President
Libertyville Woman to Lead Company’s Multi-million Dollar Breastfeeding Business
McHenry, IL – Medela Inc., the nation’s leading breastpump and breastfeeding products manufacturer, announced that Libertyville resident Carolin Archibald has been promoted to president.
Archibald assumed her position in early July. Prior to her promotion Archibald served as vice president of Medela’s professional business which focuses on hospital customers. The move comes as a result of the retirement of long-time president Carr Lane Quackenbush.
“We are thrilled to be able to promote such an accomplished professional. Carolin has demonstrated incredible leadership during her nine year tenure here. She was instrumental in strengthening our marketing capabilities. Since joining us in 2002, Carolin has served in several roles in which she swiftly excelled in the position and helped grow the business tremendously,” said Quakenbush.
Archibald joined Medela as vice president of marketing and then served as vice president of Medela’s retail business. Before joining Medela, Archibald held numerous leadership positions including: director of marketing and business development for Videoshare, Inc.; director, international brand marketing at the Rockport Company; product marketing manager at the Timberland Company; and regional manager, EF Educational Foundation for Foreign Study.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a company with such a critically important mission, one that is as important to me as it is to each of our employees. I am looking forward to leading this team to continue to do everything we can to promote breastfeeding and to help enhance mother and baby health through the life-giving benefits of breastmilk,” said Archibald.
Archibald holds a bachelor’s degree in international economics and political science from Middlebury College and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. She lives in Libertyville with her husband and two children.
