This course is a combination product and continuing education package. It is inteded as an education program to be used by everyone within your facility that has contact with human milk in the NICU.

This 1.5-hour online course focuses on immaturity-related problems encountered by late preterm infants and their vulnerabilities to specific challenges when breastfeeding.  This program explores problems associated with inadequate milk intake and presents case studies which illustrate successful strategies to ensure adequate milk intake by late preterm infants and to increase their mothers’ milk production. 

Competencies for evidence-based lactation technologies used in assisting breastfeeding mothers and babies are reviewed and participants have the opportunity for hands-on skill demonstration of a test-weight scale, nipple shields, breastpump, breastshields and specialty feeding tools.
