This one day symposium is led by two professionals who are pioneers in the area of research and practice for the use of human milk in the NICU.  They will provide evidence about the impact of human milk feedings on the health outcomes and costs of care for premature, surgical, late preterm, and readmitted newborn infants.  Their research and evidence is represented in two different environments- a birthing hospital and a top children's hospital.  Speakers will focus on arming attendees with clinically proven, evidence based methods for sucessfully establishing human milk & breastfeeding programs that target these at-risk populations.  Specific examples of complex human milk management strategies for these infants will be highlighted.
