Description

This presentation will present a clinical overview of feeding intolerance in preterm infants with a focus on the gastric residual. The gastric residual is a major reason for altering feeding progression in preterm infants with little solid evidence that it should disrupt feeding as much as it does now in most units. The evidence on gastric residuals will be reviewed along with discussion of a general approach on how to deal with gastric residuals and feeding intolerance in your own unit.
