Harmony is a single, manual breastpump designed for occasional time away from baby.

  • 2-Phase Expression® technology is proven to produce more milk in less time.*
  •  The best selling manual breastpump.1
What is 2-Phase Expression Technology?
Through research, Medela learned that there are two distinct phases of how babies breastfeed.
  1. Stimulation phase – When babies first go to breast, they suck fast and light to stimulate milk flow.
  2. Expression phase – After milk flow or “let-down” starts, babies breastfeed with a slower, deeper suck, bringing out more milk faster.
With this technology, Medela breastpumps work more like breastfeeding babies.

Harmony™ Breastpump | Medela 3.9 out of 5 based on 15 votes.

This pump works really well because you can easily angle the shield around your nipple while pumping which you may need to do to get as much milk out as possible. It can be discreet and easily put on and off. You can you things with your other hand while pumping and walk from room to room if you need. It is very difficult to do anything with the hands free pump because you can only move away as far as the tubes or the cord from the pump and it is not easy to do things in frotn of you with two big plastic contraptions hanging off of your chest. The only disadvantage is you can only do one breast at a time, but I find that to not be such a drawback since I can still do things with the other hand. I have even nursed my baby with the other breast while hand pumping the other easily.

I tried both manual and electri breast pumps. I was able to express more milk with this maual pump using a L breastshield. I am a larger woman (36DD).

I have both the Pump In Style and the Harmony, and I absolutely love the Harmony. It works incredibly well in my experience and is small enough and compact enough that I can just throw it in my bag if I'm going out and am not sure whether or not I will need to pump. I am now using it for my second child and I haven't had to replace any parts except for the white valve cover, which is to be expected. Whenever people ask what manual pump to get I always recommend this one.

Love this product so much. Did not work well for my 1st baby but works great when I have my 2nd baby. Maybe because my milk is not much at that time. Able to get same amount of milk in less time compare my other brand of electric pump.

I love this product! I bought a Medela Pump In Style before my son was born, I used that pump for awhile however it did not keep up my milk supply so I tried the Manual pump that the hospital had given me which was this product, it has worked so much better. My nipples felt so relieved I felt that the electric was too rough on my nipples, with the manual you have better control. I went out and bought another one from the store so I have one in my diaper bag and one at the house. I am able to keep extra milk in the fridge all with a $40 product. The double electric was too many parts and not convenient for me the Harmony is simple to put together at 2 in the morning when I am not functioning. When I am pumping at work I don't have to lug around a bunch of parts and a motor, this product makes everything simple. People think Manuals will hurt your hand however I have not had one pain in my hand from pumping with the Harmony. Buy this before you buy an electric don't waste money on an electric.

It only took two sessions to master this little wonder! I used the piston model, the hospital sends home, for over a month. I rented a hospital grade pump with my previous son. This model is simple, small, quiet, quick, and takes very little effort to operate. I'm at 2 months with this model. I still love it and it's extremely easy to clean! Thanks for making products I can trust to help, instead of frustrating me further!

I breast fed my baby for a whole year even though I returned to work when she was 7 months! this pump is excellent I really used it everywhere. I even managed to go abroad on a one-day trip w/o my baby and just with the pump! I expressed a good amount for a 24hrs supply for my baby using Medela Harmony and I do recommend it. I used to breast feed my baby from one breast and meanwhile express from the other breast and this was one of the great things I do not regret I bought - value for money!!

I am able to get more milk out with the Medela Harmony in a shorter amount of time than I can using my double playtex pump. The 2 phase expression really works. I still have to miss a normal feeding to get enough to make it worth while but I have started using it between feedings to try and build my milk supply and can usually get a feedings worth out throughout the day.

I have travel electric single, and 2 Medela Harmony pumps. My Harmony gets more BM out than the single electric pump. I love it so much! Best quality and I recommend to every one.

My one complaint about this product is that the O-ring has broken twice on my pump (I don't use it a ton). It is a very small but very important part, the pump does not work very well at all without this small piece. The problem is medela only sales this little piece with the diaphragm, puller and o-ring and that costs $20 dollars and you can only buy it online. I called Medela 3 times and they haven't been very helpful. The reason I Love this pump is because when it has that piece and works, it works really well and is comfortable. We travel quite regularly and it is very convenient to be able to pump and feed on the go or in a place with no power outlets. I take it everywhere with me but I am very frustrated that I have to spend $20 on a little o-ring that keep breaking and that i have to order it online (not very helpful when I am traveling). other than that I love my medela harmony breastpump. Just wish the company would help me out a bit with this little piece that keeps breaking.

The diaphragm/o-ring piece that creates the suction has cracked TWICE in 6 months. I use it once a day, which I was told by Medela customer service is considered light use, so I'm not overusing it. The first time it cracked, I immediately noticed the decrease in suction and my 10 minutes of pumping turned into 40+, although I didn't know why at first. Upon inspection, I discovered the crack. Called customer service (who were very helpful and sent me a free replacement next day shipping). Was very satisfied. Then, it cracked again! 3 months later. Same exact thing happened. I called again...this time, they refused to send a replacement and told me I had to buy it (20$) which, if I recall, is about 1/2 the cost of the entire pump starter kit. To say the least, very unhappy that the company would not replace an obviously poor quality or poorly designed piece. Even more frustrating that they don't seem to have the understanding about how frustrating it is to be a full time working, breastfeeding/pumping mother, who uses this product every morning before work and COUNTS on it to work quickly and efficiently (which, normally it does, when it is not cracked) to provide morning milk for my baby when she wakes up and I'm at work, and to help keep up my supply. At work, I use the electric pump, so I don't want to use it in the morning and have to take the time in the morning to clean all those little pieces since I will need it later in the day. The hand pump is so quick and convenient to bang out a bottle or two right when I wake up. Anyways, happy with the product when it is working (works great!)- very dissatisfied that the diaphragm keeps cracking, and that the company will only replace it once when it is clearly a flaw in the product! Keep that in mind when choosing your brand of breast pump.

I have had this pump for 3 weeks and have used it maybe 6 times and already its lost its suction. Please fellow consumers don't be fouled by nice reviews like I was, this pump is a piece of S***.

I have been pumping for 9 days and it has stopped working. This was a complete waste of money.

I am surprised to see any good reviews on this product. It was a complete waste of $40 for me. I do love my electric double pump though.
