October 30, 2007: Medela, long recognized as a world leader in breastpumps, breastfeeding accessories and lactation research, has been awarded six juvenile industry awards this year, attesting to the company’s preeminence in the category. Medela awards during 2007 include: USA Baby Vendor of the Year, three Baby & Children’s Product News Reader’s Favorites Awards, the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) Innovation Award and the Target Partner Award of Excellence.
“Medela is continuously working to increase the level of quality, innovation and service that it provides to its customers and retail partners,” said Carolin Archibald, vice president, consumer products. “For this reason we are especially pleased that our achievements have been recognized by so many different groups this year.”
USA Baby, a group of franchised specialty juvenile retailers, named Medela the 2007 Vendor of the Year in the Essentials Category during the September ABC Kids Expo. This award is given to a manufacturer who demonstrates exceptional commitment to USA Baby and the specialty retail channel.
In the June/July 2007 issue of Baby & Children’s Product News it was announced that Medela was awarded Reader’s Favorites Awards in three categories: Breast Pump/Accessories, Maternity Support and Nursing Aids. Baby & Children’s Product News is a national trade magazine which provides a link between store owners/purchasing managers and the manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers that fill their shelves.
Medela’s Swing™ Breastpump, the only single-electric breastpump to feature research-based 2-Phase Expression® technology, was honored with a coveted 2007 JPMA Innovation Award, beating out more than 100 contenders for one of 10 spots awarded at the International JPMA Show in Orlando, Fla. earlier this year. A panel of trade media and industry buyers judged the competing products. In March, Medela was voted a winner of the Target Partner Award of Excellence for 2006. The award recognizes manufacturers who demonstrate innovative leadership, superior business practices and commitment to Target’s core values of differentiation, value and reliability during the prior year. Medela was the only manufacturer recognized in the infant category, which includes feeding, natural feeding, infant clothes, infant toys, gear and furniture.
